Discovery Drive Challenge is Back
It’s back, it’s bigger and it’s better… It’s the Discovery Insure Driving Challenge. The television advertising campaign kicks off this weekend during the South Africa vs Argentina rugby match on SuperSport, and the competition gets into gear on Monday, 10 August.
The Discovery Insure Driving Challenge gives you the chance to prove you’re a great driver. You also stand a chance to win your share of R1 million in BP fuel vouchers. Everyone can take part – not only existing Discovery Insure clients.
Looking back on last year’s Challenge
The Discovery Insure Driving Challenge gave all South African motorists the opportunity to share in our vision of creating safer roads last year. More than 60 000 people downloaded the Discovery Insure app, and collectively drove more than 70 million kilometres over the three-month competition period.
On average, those who took part scored 50+ on their first day, and improved their driving by 20% over the next two days. The average trip rating was 3.5 out of 5.
Men were worse at speeding and harsh cornering, while women were worse at harsh braking and cellphone use. Overall, women proved to be better drivers.
Taking part in this year’s Challenge
It’s easy to take part: the Discovery Insure app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Every drive earns tickets into the daily prize draws. You can earn even more tickets by challenging your friends and family to compete with you.
Surprise challenges will take place throughout the competition. These will depend on how well you drive on a particular day and over time, and how many other drivers you’ve added to your Leaderboard.
