World record-breaking Classic Car sells at auction

The Monterey Car Week, held annually at Monterey, California USA, hosted the auction for the latest world record-breaking sale.

RM Sotheby’s auction, along with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering that features several supercars close by in Carmel, draw in car lovers from all over the world.

A 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO (chassis no. 3413) was sold for a hammer price of $ 44 Million, $48.4 Million with buyer’s commission, to an as-yet-undisclosed buyer via an agent.

The sale of the 250 GTO is the highest price an automobile has ever fetched at auction.
